Insert Title
Insert Title is a senior thesis exhibition exploring the visual language, clichés, and production techniques of film title sequence design across four cinematic genres: documentary, romance, action, and superhero. Centered around a multi-genre animated title sequence, the exhibit examined how motion, typography, image-making, and pacing shift across genre conventions while highlighting the creative process behind title design.
The exhibition featured process work including sketches, storyboards, and development materials alongside the final animation, offering viewers insight into the progression from concept to completion. An interactive augmented reality component allowed visitors to take home miniature movie posters that, when scanned through the Artivive app, activated the corresponding animated title sequence.
Each genre segment was intentionally produced using a distinct visual and production method as a way to push beyond my typical creative approach. The documentary sequence combined hand-drawn illustration with digital compositing in Adobe After Effects, the romance sequence was created through collage using vintage Good Housekeeping magazines, the action sequence focused on dynamic typography and geometric form, and the superhero sequence was animated frame-by-frame. Together, the project became an exploration of experimentation, storytelling, and motion design through multiple visual systems and mediums.
Chroma Hair Color
Chroma is a conceptual haircare brand centered around fashion hair color, self-expression, and creative identity. Developed as a comprehensive branding project, the work explored how visual systems can communicate individuality while remaining approachable and commercially cohesive.
The project included the development of a full brand identity system spanning logo design, typography, color strategy, packaging, retail display concepts, and an integrated advertising campaign. Designed to balance bold creative energy with accessibility, the identity system positioned Chroma as a vibrant, expressive brand focused on empowering users through color and personal style.
Plastic Rapt
This exhibition identity concept was created for Plastic Rapt: A History of Designing Forever, an exhibition at the Goldstein Museum of Design examining the dual nature of plastic as both an essential design material and a lasting environmental concern. The project explored how graphic design can visually communicate the tension between plastic’s functionality, accessibility, and permanence.
The series included a poster, postcard, and large-scale exhibition banner designed as a cohesive promotional system for the exhibit. Drawing from the exhibition’s themes of mass production, consumer culture, and environmental impact, the visual language balanced bold synthetic forms and vibrant color with layered compositions that reference accumulation, waste, and material excess. The project served as an exploration of exhibition branding, typographic hierarchy, and designing within a conceptual museum context.
