Insert Title is an exhibit that explores the complexities and clichés of movie title sequence design across four different genres and production methods. The bulk of the exhibit is the title sequence that transitions through the documentary, romance, action, and superhero genres. Alongside the final animation, in-progress sketches and storyboards reveal the production process from start to finish, taking the viewer on a journey through title sequence design.  The viewer was also able to take home a mini movie poster of their choosing that when scanned with the app Artivive, would play the title sequence that corresponds to the poster.

Each genre was created using a different production method to challenge myself to get out of my comfort zone and create something I normally wouldn’t lean towards. Documentary was entirely hand drawn and taken into After Effects for a dual process animation. Romance was collaged from old Good Housekeeping magazines. Action was created using various shapes and typography. Superhero was drawn frame by frame.
